Rhaphidophora tetrasperma (the mini-monstera)

Rhaphidophora tetrasperma

Often called the mini-monstera (or monstera minima) the Rhapidophora tetrasperma is actually in an entirely separate genus. Interestingly, this plant grows in East Asia as opposed to the Monstera which is native to South America but both are from the same family order ‘Araceae’.

The growth habit of this plant is similar to its cousin the Monstera however the leaves tend to be fenestrated (leaf splits) in it’s juvenile form, it also grows a lot faster. The leaves tend to remain small even when climbing and easily spread to fill a space.
